Rupert Hartley is a visual artist living and working between London and Hove, East Sussex, UK.  Trained originally in printed textile design at the Glasgow School of Art he later studied an MA Art in Architecture at University of East London. He has worked on numerous art and architecture research projects and in recent years has focused on a painting practice.

His current work focuses on colour and the repeated gesture. Using various sized supports and working on and off stretcher he marks out grids that become the starting point for his paintngs. His work exploits ideas related to both art and architecture, an interest which he carries through into exhibitions, exploring the potential of different contexts to install and present work.

He is represented by Nordic Art Agency in Scandinavia. Please follow link to see profile and available works.
